BBA113 QUANTITATIVE METHODS FOR BUSINESS 3 NIL This course aims to develop students’ understanding of basic mathematical and calculus concepts, and extend students’ numerical skills in problem-solving. It introduces knowledge in theories and applications of business mathematics and calculus which are useful in business, economics, and the social science.
BBA115A MICROECONOMICS 3 NIL This course aims to provide students with an explanation of the importance of interdependence among individuals. It introduces concepts on economic analysis of market mechanism, knowledge on different types of competition. Finally it enhances students’ understanding of the role of government policies in economic perspectives.
BBA115B MACROECONOMICS 3 BBA115A Microeconomics This course provides the concepts on macroeconomics measurement. It identifies factors of economic growth, unemployment, money and inflation and the mechanism of open macroeconomics. It also introduces macroeconomic policies in dealing with economic problems.
BBA121 PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT 3 NIL This course introduces the functions of management, including planning, organizing, leading, staffing, communicating, coordinating and controlling issues in business management.  It also provides students with theories of management, and practices of management in contemporary organizations from a conceptual, analytical and pragmatic perspective.
BBA211 BUSINESS LAW 3 NIL This course introduces legal system of Hong Kong. It equips students with a sound general knowledge and conceptual understanding of the aspects of business law and the law of tort. It also develops students’ associated practical legal skills in the application of those principles to real life commercial problems.
BBA212 BUSINESS COMMUNICATION 3 NIL This course introduces students to the principles of effective communication and improves students’ ability for term work, doing research and making public presentation.  It also provides students with knowledge on the basic forms of writing for the workplace and on commonly used terms and phrases in business environment.
BBA214 MANAGEMENT OF CHINESE ENTERPRISES 3 BBA121 Principles of Management This course provides students with the knowledge on Chinese enterprises from a strategic standpoint, including competitive philosophies, business strategies and practices, as well as differences between Chinese management and other management systems.
BBA215 BUSINESS FORECASTING 3 ABA102 Business Statistics, BBA121 Principles of Management This courses provides students with knowledge and concepts of different forecasting methods and linear time series models used in business applications.  It also helps students understand the assumptions of different forecasting models and how to apply the concepts in real life situations via examples.
BBA216 HONG KONG ECONOMY 3 BBA115A Microeconomics, BBA115B Macroeconomics This course provides students with the knowledge on both historical development of the Hong Kong economy and current issues that Hong Kong faces.  It also enhances students with the knowledge on how to apply basic economic theories to the real world analysis and cases in business, especially how Hong Kong economy is affected by Mainland China, the United States and European countries.
BBA217 CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR 3 BBA224 Principles of Marketing This course provides students with knowledge on consumer decision-making process and the sociological and psychological variables that shape the consumer decision this process.  It also helps students understand how a firm can build long-term relationship with the customers and develop a good grasp of the variables that affect consumption and their implications on actual strategic marketing decisions.

The course also enhances students understanding of HRM practices in the firms in Hong Kong with specific references to HR strategies, recruitments and selection and labour relations; and common practices in multinational corporations, etc.

The course focuses on how to plan and invest in a CRM programme as business managers undertaking customer-facing functions (marketing, sales, service and support) and IT managers who support these functions.

It equips students with a sound knowledge of the legal framework regulating the liquidation and winding up of companies, and protection of creditors.  It also trains students to critically evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the legal framework in individual bankruptcy and corporate insolvency in Hong Kong。
