BBA students have benefitted from a series of seminars and workshops held in 2015 -2016. Faculty-wide seminars included in particular a lecture presented by Dr CHAN Man Hung, Director of Public Policy Research Institute and Head of the China Business Centre of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, on “ 一 帶 一 路 (One Belt One Road)” (February 18, 2016) and a talk on “ 富 足 自 由 人 — 曾 淵 滄 投 資 之 道 ” presented by our External Advisor, Dr CHAN Yan Chong

Professor Harry Trummer from Goethe-Universität Frankfurt shared with our Year 4 BBA and Finance students on April 5, 2016 his latest research in “Successful strategic and operational leadership approaches in globalized economies for the 21st Century”. Starting from the mega trend changes in the world to the latest development in leadership theories and finishing with the qualities required of the 21st Century leaders, Professor Trummer has given our prospective graduates and future business leaders a very stimulating and enlightening seminar which students received with warm applause.
November 17, 2015
Mr Alexander Wong, a Consultant on Employee Benefits of Manulife (International) Limited conducted a workshop on “Ethics in Perspective – How It Works in Insurance” with our students on November 17, 2015. In the workshop, Mr Wong shared with us the many grey areas in the insurance industry and guidelines for conducting an ethical practice in the insurance industry. Students found the sharing very practical and useful for their future career development.

“2016 HKIM Experience Sharing Seminar” 《 品 牌 超 連 結 》 Students participated in the abovementioned seminar held by the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing and learned from the sharing of experienced industry practitioners.

Social Media Seminar

Students attended a seminar by Tencent, Google and Youtube to get more idea of current mobile apps and social media’s business strategies, opportunities and challenges.

2015 and 2016 Global Brand Planning Competitions
June 12 & 13, 2015

Three teams of students took part in the 2015 Global Brand Planning Competition organized by the Global Chinese Marketing Federation (GCMF). The competition took part in Singapore on June 13, 2015. One of the teams comprising three Year 3 students, namely Cheung Kin Yee, Siao Wing Yin and Hui Ying, won the Best Report Award among competing marketing and business students from universities of Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Singapore.

This year, a team comprising four BBA Year 4 students, Lam Yee Man, Leung Nga Sze, Lo Yuk Fung and Yan Hiu Ling, went to Singapore for the final round of the 2016 Global Brand Planning Competition. The competition was held on June 12, 2016 and the students got a Certificate of Honour for participation. Wish this fruitful experience in Singapore will become a fond memory to mark the students’ graduation!

Shing Mun Reservoir Hiking

26 staff members, students, advisors, alumni and friends took part in the Shing Mun Reservoir Hiking on December 20, 2015. The three-hour walk around the reservoir was enjoyable and fruitful as participants strolled along the beautiful hiking trail in good company.

Spring Lunch

BBA staff were invited to the Spring Lunch organized by the three associations of the Faculty of Business at Patrick Restaurant on March 2, 2016. The joyous event brought together staff and students from different departments of the faculty and heralded the beginning of a promising new year.
